All About Nicole

Greetings and welcome to Indiana Sober Moments Blog. My name is Nicole Walters. I live in Miller Beach, Indiana with my fur babies and hubby. At a young age, I entered a treatment center for help with alcohol and other substances here in the great state of Indiana.  In my recovery walk, I have remained active in a community with like-minded folks. Have met so many miracles along the way. Because of sobriety, I have had the opportunity to build a new life after years transient, or living in chaos, & too much time in the bars. Join me on this recovery journey.

I have years of experience in social work, recovery homes, recovery coaching, volunteering for nonprofits, and graduated college with two degrees – an Associate and Bachelor’s Psychology. It was time to pursue a Master’s Degree in Psychology, so I recently enrolled in graduate school. Worked as a Family Case Manager and trainer in child welfare for fifteen years, eleven of which with families and children. Needless to say, I needed a release, hence, this site.  Call it self-care, but I had to find an outlet to shake off the field.   In this transition, I was blessed with so many opportunities.  Invited to volunteer for two nonprofits, become a certified recovery coach, create a webpage for a nonprofit, set up a 501(c)3, submit grant proposals, and helped with significant fundraising for a small recovery clubhouse.

I absolutely love the connections we can build through social networking.  So, let’s keep in touch!  Leave your info below.  Feel free to look around, comment, subscribe, and follow me on social media. Bloggers, please drop your sites below. I would love to follow you!

Remember, recovery IS possible.
